J. García López started his entrepreneurial path in 1981 in Mexico, where he stood out in a leading business on funeral services, offering services replete with dignity, warmth and humanity. After this business was well established and well positioned in the Mexican market, J. García López decided to expand his business portfolio and sought new opportunities to grow. Three decades later, the investment divisions had expanded to the sectors of gastronomy, real-estate, and tourism. He also promoted businesses internationally, and Mextizo stands as one of those.
The Alcis Corp. group was created in order to manage all its brands, promoting values of excellency, quality and innovation in each one of them. It is worth mentioning that the Alcis Corp. group has more than 700 partners all over the world, including J. García López, Funeral Net, Florería Blanc, Tiempo de Café coffee-shops, Anastasia Bistro & Lounge, Anastasia Bakery, Pan de Pueblo, Daily Fresh, Ice Temptation, Sweet Juliet, or Calypso Hotels.
The word Alcis, of Greek origin, means strength, the strength that made the group grow and advance into the future, always with responsibility, integrity, humanity and passion. The Alcis Corp. investors July García, Óscar Padilla and Lupita García de Padilla form, with Adrián Marín, Mextizo’s chef, a strong team with clear ideas and a large experience in the industry. That is the reason why they placed their bets in the Mexditerranean style of cooking created by Adrián Marín, taking advantage of the fact that both the Mexican and the Mediterranean cuisines are Intangible Cultural Heritages. At the same time, they also considered the warmth, the Mexican “apapache” that involves you, that makes you feel at home in combination with Barcelona’s vanguard.
